Dr. Jones has been working with large scale survey data since 1970 and has published in the areas of social mobility and changing family structures. More recently, he has carried out research using the first three cycles of Canada’s National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth. He has used the British Census Longitudinal Survey in research on the changing forms of women's labour force participation. His current research involves studying ways to increase human and social capital in marginalized populations.
